FBI agents yesterday arrested a 21-year-old man believed to have participated in a recent cyber attack on InfraGard, the bureau’s initiative with the private sector to fight terrorist threats against the nation.
According to the criminal complaint, Scott Matthew Arciszewski, a University of Central Florida student, uploaded three files that damaged the server of InfraGard Tampa Chapter by “impairing the integrity of the server.”
Using the name voodooKobra, Arciszewski then allegedly tweeted about his efforts, saying the InfraGard website had “one hell of an exploit.”
The FBI were able to tracked down Arciszewski’s IP address to find him and arrested him without incident at UCF.
InfraGard has come under several cyber attacks in the past few months. Now-disbanded hacker group Lulz Security in early June defaced the website of InfraGard Atlanta and leaked 180 usernames and passwords of members.
