Man Pleads Guilty to Hacking OneSky Jets' Computer Systems

A Goffstown, N.H., man has pleaded guilty to repeatedly hacking into his former employer's computer systems and using that information to solicit new business for a competing company, the Justice Department announced.

Lawrence R. Marino, 41, pleaded guilty to a one-count criminal information charging him with computer intrusion. In the plea hearing, he admitted to breaking into the computer systems of OneSky Jets to obtain other employees' email log-ins.

After Marino left OneSky, he joined Regent Jet, a competitor private jet company. While working there, Marino accessed the email accounts of OneSky employees and obtained information about the company’s customers. He also admitted to stealing tens of thousands of customer names and other information that he then used to solicit new customers on behalf of Regent Jet.

A sentencing hearing has been scheduled for Oct. 17, 2011. Marino faces five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, and restitution.
