BAE Systems recently donated $100,000 to support the Army Heritage Center Foundation. The donation was made in support of the building of the second phase of the Visitor and Education Center at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center.
The 37,000-square foot center will include a rotating interpretive gallery, and public space for educational programs, veterans’ reunions and other public gatherings. BAE Systems has partnered with the foundation since 2008 to help grow and expand its campus and exhibits.
“The generous support from BAE Systems towards development of this focal point of the USAHEC campus will ensure that the personal stories of individual stories live on generation to generation,” said retired Maj. Gen. Robert Diamond, Army Heritage Center Foundation board president.
The center has a research library that holds more than 11 million manuscripts and more than 1.5 million photos ranging from the beginning of photography to digital media from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
