CA Technologies today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for Content-Aware Data Loss Prevention.
Garter positions vendors in the “leaders” quadrant based upon their complete vision and ability to execute in data protection.
Gartner analysts evaluated CA DLP for this report recognizing DLP that are content aware as their core function.
Competent DLP perform content inspection of data both at rest and in motion executing responses such as active blocking or simple notification based on the policy settings. For consideration of a leadership position, vendors’ products should demonstrate a sophisticated detection technique going beyond simple keyword matching and regular expressions.
“We consider our positioning in the ‘leaders’ quadrant by Gartner confirmation of our strategy and mission to bring content and context into the realm of data protection and identity and access management,” said Mike Denning, general manager for security business at CA Technologies. “CA DLP is a critical element for our strategy to deliver identity and access management that is both content- and context-aware, providing unique intelligence about user identities and the content they access.”
