Deloitte announced today the appointment of Eric Openshaw as the new head of its U.S. technology, media and telecommunications practice. Openshaw succeeds Phil Asmundson and will support industry strategy, research, service development and delivery to the organization’s TMT clients.
According to Deloitte, Openshaw played a large role in the development of the company’s Center for the Edge, a research-focused center which helps senior executives understand and profit from emerging opportunities on the edge of business and technology.
“The breadth and depth of Eric’s technology background and experience makes him uniquely qualified for his new role,” said Karen Mazer, vice chairman of Deloitte LLP and managing principal of U.S. industries. “The technology, media and telecommunications space is constantly evolving — and now more than ever.”
“Eric’s vision and fresh perspective will only further our reputation as an innovative leader in this dynamic and converging marketplace,” she added.
Openshaw joined Deloitte in 1997 and has held various leadership positions in the consulting practice and technology industry group. He was appointed U.S. Technology sector leader in 2007.
