Parsons has recently announced it has been selected by Broward County, Fl. to provide construction management services for the expansion of runway 9R-27L at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
The $791 million project is expected to be competed by 2014 and will expand the south runway to 8,000 ft and widen it by 50ft. Also part of the project is construction a new parallel taxiway and multiple bridge structures.
Parsons Group President Tom Barron said his firm's vast experience with similar runway projects sets the stage for exemplary results at FLL. The company has completed runway projects at airports in Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Seattle and Honolulu among many others.
