Red Hat Inc. announced that PGA TOUR and CDW will migrate PGA TOUR’s proprietary servers to Red Hat Enterprise Linux for better stability, performance and reliability in managing its strategic digital media assets.
PGA TOUR, a nonprofit for professional golfers, was in search of a more reliable and higher-power operating platform in order to scale its data center infrastructure. It has made use of Red Hat Enterprise Linux to make this move.
By utilizing Red Hat’s Enterprise Linux, PGA TOUR has been able to find specific video clips in seconds rather than hours as well as both edit and transfer the clip at a fraction of the cost.
“Of all the Linux distributions on the market, we see Red Hat as the clear industry leader,“ said Jonas Gredenhag, manager of datacenter operations for the PGA TOUR. “When we create or update an application, or need to provision a new production server, our first question is, can we use Red Hat for this? If the answer is “˜yes,' we call on CDW to provision a new Red Hat Enterprise Linux server.“
