Selex Galileo Unveils ACME Remotely Operated Vehicle System

Selex Galileo Unveils ACME Remotely Operated Vehicle System - top government contractors - best government contracting eventSELEX Galileo launched their Automated Computerised Mobility Equipment kit at DSEi 2011.

According to Selex, the ACME kit can be installed on any land vehicle transforming it into a remotely operated vehicle providing a solutions to route clearance solutions and convoy protection from asymmetric threats.

The benefit of this new system is that vehicles do not need modification in order for the kit to be installed allowing installation to be complete in under two hours. The system increases the force protection level and reduces the risk to personnel involved in patrol, transport or route clearance missions.

ACME systems operational functions include detection, investigation and confirmation without military personnel actually on-board vehicles. The system can be integrated with the 360 degree thermal imaging and narrow-field-of-view systems and can be supported with sensor data analysis. SELEX Galileo's vehicle simulation capabilities naturally complement the ACME system.
