Vangent, Inc. has won a U.S. Commerce Department contract to implement, operate and transition U.S. Census Bureau transaction recording and automated workforce scheduling systems.

The work will occur at permanent telephone call centers located in Ind., Md. and Ariz. and help increase contact quality and staffing efficiencies.

The call centers conduct various economic surveys and the ongoing American Community Survey.

The contract is potentially worth $5.3 million over a two-year base period and a one-year option.

“Vangent has played a major role supporting the last two decennial censuses as a subcontractor to Lockheed Martin, but this is our first effort as a prime contractor with the U.S. Census Bureau,“ said Mac Curtis, president and CEO of Vangent.  “We are proud to put our proven contact center engineering capabilities and operations best practices to work for the U.S. Census Bureau in support of their vital mission to provide accurate and up-to-date economic and social data for our nation.“
