Computer Sciences Corp. has tapped Alan Weakley to lead its newly-created North American public sector defense group, its primary organization for Defense Department enterprise solutions, IT services, mission support and training and range operations.
CSC created the group by merging its former defense and intelligence unit with its applied technology group. As group president, Weakley will oversee more than 14,000 employees and report to Jim Sheaffer, president of the North American public sector.
“This realignment reflects CSC’s commitment to deliver an integrated approach to the defense market,” said Sheaffer. “The fully-integrated defense group will bring a significant set of synergies, efficiencies and core offerings that will improve service delivery to our military customers.
Weakely began his career serving in the U.S. Navy, including posts aboard two nuclear fast attack submarines.
Weakely also spent 23 years with URS Corp‘s EG&G division where he served as the director of the defense systems and services strategic business unit, director of the command, control and electronics strategic business element and director of the maritime systems and fleet support group.
