HP Enterprise Services has been awarded a $70 million contract that extends its service agreement to manage Arkansas’ Medicaid program. HP has served as the state’s fiscal agent since 1985.
Over 27 months, HP will continue to help the state prepare healthcare reforms and align Medicaid expenses with state revenues. The company said it processes more than 38 million claims worth more than $4 billion a year for about 30,000 Arkansas healthcare providers.
Arkansas’ Department of Human Services‘ medical services division awarded the work.
“As demand increases and resources become scarcer, the need for efficiencies and innovation in MMIS hits a critical note,“ said Susan Arthur, vice president of health and life sciences for HP Enterprise Services. “The HP team draws upon our decades of MMIS experience to support the state's goal of making Medicaid one of its easier payers to work with and ultimately promoting better health and quality of life for Arkansans.“
