ITT Corp. was named among the top U.S. publicly traded companies in the 2011 Newsweek Green Rankings for its continual commitment to instilling environmentally responsible practices. It received the 150th spot of 500 U.S. corporations recognized.
ITT has been recognized each year since the inception of the list in 2009. The policies and programs that ITT has in place reduce the overall environmental footprint of the company.
The rankings are based on a green score reached through three main criteria including environmental management, footprint and disclosure. Newsweek collaborates with leading environmental research organizations Trucost and Sustainalytic to compile a score based on data and assessment of companies’ policies and initiatives.
