Parsons Wins 2011 Maintenance Achievement Award; VP John Thomas Comments

Parsons recently won a 2011 Maintenance Solutions Achievement Award for its work at its world headquarters in Pasadena, Calif. The awards program recognizes those who have accomplished standout results in four categories which include renovations and retrofit, sustainability, financial management, and personnel management.

“This award validates our strong commitment to our core value of sustainability, and we appreciate Maintenance Solutions’ recognition of Kevin Frandson, Western Region Deputy Manager & Chief Building Engineer, and the entire Pasadena facility team,” said John Thomas, Parsons vice president.

Parsons won in the sustainability category. Its entry focused on water savings, energy efficiency, green purchasing and recycling. The Maintenance Solutions Achievement Award entries reflect the many challenges maintenance and engineering departments in institutional and commercial facilities face in the U.S. today.

Former DHS Official Brian Harrell Named to CyVision Advisory Board

Brian Harrell, former assistant secretary for infrastructure protection at the Department of Homeland Security, has joined the board of advisers of Bethesda, Maryland-based cybersecurity firm CyVision Technologies. He served as the first assistant director for infrastructure security at DHS' Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency and is the chief security officer at energy company Avangrid.
