Tom Oles is vice president of business development at Lockheed Martin. Oles is responsible for Lockheed’s top line growth, including planning, developing and winning new business, and acquisition support.
Previously, Oles was vice president of strategic development for Lockheed’s information systems and global services business unit. For eight years, he was vice president of business development for Lockheed’s IT business unit. He also was director of business development for the IT unit and worked on other technical and managerial assignments.
Oles joined Lockheed in 1983. In 1986 he began a two-year ssignment with Hoskyns Group PLC in the United Kingdom where he was responsible for their commercial IT sales efforts to British clients.
After returning to the U.S., Oles held a variety of management positions with Lockheed’s information systems business unit supporting growth initiatives for federal government customers.
In 1993, Oles moved to Lockheed’s information support services unit as a business development manager, responsible for capture of major IT programs. He was promoted to director of civilian business development in 1998 and then vice president of business development in 1999. Oles holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Florida.
