In an effort to better manage and track services and payments for the workforce in India, the Government of Maharashtra has recruited and awarded Accenture a three-year contract to provide management and consulting technology.
Accenture will take part in managing labor law administration as well as creating a system in which the government will more easily be able to manage license renewals, filing grievances through an online portal.
The company reported that the technology system will also assist in registration and application filing and providing financial inclusion to “unorganized workers” by use of biometric signatures, to be integrated with India’s government program, the unique identification p;rogram.
“Accenture is proud to have been selected by the Department of Labor to support such an ambitious and innovative project,“ said Krishna Giri, managing director for Accenture“™s health and public service business in India. “We look forward to helping improve the way India“™s people can access information and interact with their government.“
