Alion Science and Technology will produce digital terrain and geospatial datasets for the U.S. Army Geospatial Center under a $6 million task order.

Alion said in an announcement of the order that the work also includes validating the Army‘s geospatial enterprise-enabled systems through experimentation, systems engineering and systems implementation plans.

“Validating AGC's technical solutions can greatly improve the quality of maps and other geographic information used by warfighters in the field,” said Rear Adm. Richard E. Brooks (U.S. Navy, retired), senior vice president and manager of Alion’s distributed simulation group. “It can also help commanders plan and operate decisively.“

The work was awarded under the Defense Technical Information Center's WSTIAC contract, with the period of performance through Sept. 1, 2014.
