Boeing Reaches Tentative Labor Agreement to Extend IAM Union Contract 4 Years - top government contractors - best government contracting eventBoeing has reached a tentative agreement on a four-year extension of its contract with the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers that is set to expire in September 2012, the company announced Wednesday.

The contract still needs to be ratified by IAM members in the states of Kansas, Washington and Oregon.

In conjunction with that announcement, Boeing also said it plans to build its new 737 MAX airplane in Renton, Wash.

Boeing said in a separate release that it will invest in production of Next-Generation 737s and 737 MAXs in its Renton facility. The company announced in August it would build a new-engine variant of the 737 and had been reviewing potential sites for 737 MAX production.
