Northrop Grumman executive was recently recognized for earning the Long Island Software and Technology Network Diamond Award for leadership in the technology field.

Jane Bishop, who has been with the company for 25 years, is the director of program integration and enterprise management for Northrop Grumman Corporation’s airborne early warning integrated product team, the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye program.

She began work on the Hawkeye and is now the program manager. She also completed work with E-2C program as an antenna and radio frequency equipment design engineer.

“Jane’s contributions serves as an inspiration to all future leaders “” especially young women who are coming into the technology field,” said Pat McMahon, sector vice president and general manager, Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems, Battle Management and Engagement Systems Divisions.

McMahon, who commented on Bishop’s achievement, has also received the Diamond Award and served on the LISTnet board of directors as well. Northrop Grumman is a corporate sponsor of LISTnet, which is a nonprofit organization that aims to promote Long Island as one of the national centers of excellence for technology solutions.

Lockheed-Made Spacecraft Brings Asteroid Samples in Return Trip to Earth

A Lockheed Martin-made spacecraft is now on its way back to Earth after a mission to explore and gather samples on the Bennu asteroid. The OSIRIS-REx spacecraft carries asteroid samples as it flies back to Earth's orbit over a 1.4-billion-mile, two-year trip, which is expected to include two rotations around the Sun, Lockheed said Monday.
