Lockheed Martin has today announced its $6.7 million contract win to provide up to 20 variants of a laser training device to the U.S Army.
Lockheed said the live maneuver training program includes four one-year options and was awarded by the Army’s Program Executive Office of Simulation, Training and Instrumentation.
“Effective training includes technology that mirrors what warfighters could encounter in the field,“ said Jim Craig, vice president of training systems at Lockheed Martin's global training and logistics business unit.
The company will provide its instrumentable multiple integrated laser engagement system shoulder launched munitions training devices, or I-MILES SLM for short.
