Profile: John T. Brennan, TASC Air Force Business Unit Head

John T. Brennan of TASC

Retired Air Force major general John T. Brennan is the head of TASC‘s Air Force business unit, which delivers systems engineering, integration and acquisition support services for the Air Force. The unit also provides cyber operations to the Air Force Cyber Command.

Prior to his appointment, Brennan hailed from SAIC where he handled responsibility for an operation serving the Central Intelligence Agency and Defense Intelligence Agency.

Brennan retired from the Air Force in 2008 as both a 32-year veteran and two-star general and command pilot. He has logged more than 2,700 flying hours, specifically in the F-15A-E aircraft. During his Air Force career, he served as the CIA’s director for military affairs, acting as the principal adviser to the CIA director.

His assignment included responsibility coordinating and planning military and interagency operations. He oversaw coordination of military activities in order to ensure CIA support to be adequate.

Brennan has also served as the U.S. Security Coordinator and Chief for the Office of Security Cooperation in Kabul, Afghanistan, a program aimed to develop and sustain the 70,000-person Afghan army as well as the 62,000-person Afghan national police.

After attending Purdue University and receiving his degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering, Brennan was commissioned through the ROTC in 1976. While in the Air Force, his commands included operations group, two fighter wings, fighter squadron and Air Forces Europe.

In addition to his Bachelor of Science degree, Brennan is also a graduate of the advanced management program at Dartmouth College. He earned his M.B.A. from Golden Gate University.
