QTS to Invest $10M in "Green" Improvements - top government contractors - best government contracting eventQuality Technology Services recently announced its plans to invest $10 million in energy efficiency measures over several years.

This past summer, QTS partook in the Environmental Defense Fund“™s climate corps program, a fellowship program designed to help companies save money via “green” technology and reduce their carbon footprint.

Through the program, QTS was able to identify more than $4 million in potential annual energy efficiency costs and savings at their Atlanta Metro facility.

After changes were implemented, the facility, which is the world’s second largest data center,  was awarded a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold Certification. LEED was developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, and is an internationally-recognized green building certification system that provides the framework for business owners and operators to identify and implement practical and measurable “green building design.”

“Achieving LEED Gold in a large, multi-tenant environment is extremely challenging, and everybody at QTS is justifiably proud of this achievement,“ said Brian Johnston, chief technology officer of QTS. “As we implement our EDF fellow’s recommendations through a $10 million multi-year investment, we strive to be not only good stewards of resources, but pass cost savings through to our customers who have an interest in going green.“
