US Approves $1.7B Raytheon Deal to Upgrade Saudi Arabia Missile Defense - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Raytheon logo_EbizThe U.S. State Department and Congress have approved Raytheon Co.’s $1.7 billion direct commercial sales contract to upgrade the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Patriot air and missile defense system, the company announced today.

Raytheon said the upgrade to the latest configuration-3 will include an interoperability capability that will help enable potential coalition operations.

It also said the award includes items for ground-system hardware, a full training package and support equipment upgrades.

Twelve countries currently use the Patriot model as their missile defense system.
