VMware's Chris Young Joins Cisco to Lead New Security Engineering Team - top government contractors - best government contracting event VMware Senior Vice President Chris Young will join Cisco and lead its new security engineering team, which was formed through a merger of Cisco’s global government security division and its security technologies group.

Young will replace the departing Tom Gillis, who will “pursue his entrepreneurial passion outside Cisco,” according to a company blog post.

Young’s responsibilities at VMware included overseeing end-user computing strategy.

“Even with all this momentum in security, we still saw opportunities to do more and for the first time, the security engineering team will now be led by an SVP,” said Cisco CEO John Chambers.
