BAE Systems and AVX Aircraft Company have teamed forces to compete for the Navy‘s medium range maritime unmanned aerial system program.

The MRMUAS program will introduce a reconfigurable platform for air-capable ships. The two have combined their skill and expertise in system and subsystem integration as well as rotorcraft design to pursue the program.

The team has also submitted its proposal to develop the landing unmanned aerial system to the Navy's broad agency announcement.

More specifically, the partner pursuit integrates AVX's patented aircraft configuration with BAE Systems' onboard common autonomous mission systems, payloads, mission control system and support capabilities, according to the company announcement.
