In light of recent news that the cloud fever has truly caught as evident in Gartner, CSC and Unisys reports, HP and Box announced an agreement to combine forces and offer integrated solutions for cloud management and storage.
A report by InformationWeek indicated that the partnership demonstrates that cloud is moving toward a service model versus a product-centric business model.
As a result of the recently announced agreement, Box cloud managment and collaboration platforms will be offered by HP for small and midsize business and enterprise devices. Additional aspects of the agreement include access to specefic Box platforms through HP PCs and devices.
The release indicated that the two companies see a massive market opportunity for enterprise collaboration in the cloud, which has driven their focus in redefining the way organizations manage and share information.
“Our customers are entering a new era of data management and storage, and they need a simple, cost-effective way to collaborate and share information in the cloud,“ said Stephen DiFranco, senior vice president and general manager, Americas, personal systems group, HP.
