Microsoft recently partnered with the Virginia Department of Health and healthcare systems firm Unival to establish a statewide electronic healthcare registry, according to published reports.
The registry will allow residents to provide doctors with instructions regarding what steps to take protect their lives in case of a medical emergency.
Residents’ healthcare records will be stored within Microsoft’s HealthVault and the registry’s user interface, which is based on the Microsoft Dynamics management system.
