About 50 Northrop Grumman employees recently donated supplies and assembled holiday care packages for deployed U.S. troops during an “Adopt a Soldier” event.
The company reported that they packed 45 boxes with personal items such as toiletries, snacks, books and crossword puzzles to show appreciation for service men and women during the holidays.
A second project Northrop employees participated in included the company’s African-American Task Group and Pride in Diversity Alliance employee resource groups, which together provided holiday gifts to 16 families that are facing financial hardship.
Northrop employees also donated gifts to more than 130 children through an Angel Tree program, which provides gifts to needy children.
“We are proud of the generosity and community spirit displayed by Northrop Grumman employees all year, including during the holiday season,” said Liz Iversen, sector vice president and general manager of Northrop Grumman’s navigation systems division. “These initiatives exemplify the best of our company’s emphasis on giving back to the communities where we live and work.”
