The company will support the target designation system, known as the LITENING AT system, for Australia’s F/A-18 Hornet aircraft.
Northrop will now provide in-service support for targeting pods and data links through September 2015 on the approximately $8 million award.
Northrop said its LITENING AT is a self-contained, multisensor weapon-aiming system that supports air-to-air and air-to-ground activity with image processing for target identification, GPS capabilities and multiple sensors.
Northrop also won contract modifications totaling more than $91 million to reset U.S. military MQ-5B Hunter systems with reconnaissance and surveillance data link technology. GovCon Wire covered that award, here.
