Raytheon to Upgrade Radar Used for NORAD Data

Raytheon‘s technical services business will upgrade the Cobra Dane’s radar facility under a $14,046,412 contract from the Air Force, the Pentagon announced Tuesday.

According to Raytheon, the radar’s data and voice communications systems integrate with the North American Aerospace Defense Command. The Pentagon said the upgrade will ensure the radar collects 100 percent of the data that passes through its field of view.

Work will take place in Falls Church, Va. and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2015.
