Accenture will redesign, develop and manage IRS.gov, the agency’s employee intranet and a user portal for tax preparers.
The IRS website handles more than 2 billion page views per year.
Accenture said its preliminary focus will be on IRS.gov’s design, architecture, infrastructure and operations.
Key components of the new site will include:
- Content management
- Search engine optimization
- Site security
- User analytics
Accenture currently assists the IRS’ online registration and renewal program for tax filers and preparers.
Accenture also supports IRS projects for payment processing and fee accounting.
Craig Cornelius, who leads Accnenture’s federal civilian agency portfolio, said the IRS’ strategy includes giving taxpayers resources to help them meet their tax responsibilities.
