Northrop HQ Awarded Gold-Level Green Certificate

Northrop Grumman‘s headquarters in Falls Church, Va. was awarded gold-level certification as a green building by the U.S. Business Council, Northrop announced Wednesday.

The USBC established the Leadership in Energy and Environment Design system as a framework for implementing solutions for designing, building and operating green buildings.

Northrop said it installed high-efficiency cooling and heating systems and advanced lighting controls at the company’s headquarters.

Northrop also has practices for reducing water usage and managing solid waste to further reduce the environmental footprint of the company’s headquarters.
