VMware said Peake Healthcare Innovations will work with VMware and Intel to provide healthcare workers secure access to patient images.

Intel will provide cloud technologies to support the Peake cloud solution platform.

Frank Nydam, VMware’s senior healthcare director, said virtualization provides an opportunity for the companies to develop the imaging service.

Adam Zaricki, president of Peake Healthcare Innovations, said Peake is entering the marketplace at a time when healthcare providers are facing increased regulatory and reimbursement challenges.

VMware said the service is also intended to provide healthcare workers a secure environment for collaboration.
