Dell and the American Red Cross have launched a digital operations center at the Red Cross“™ national disaster operations center in Washington.
The center is the first social media-based operation focused on humanitarian relief, demonstrating the role social media plays in emergency situations.
Dell said the center is modeled after its social media listening command center, incorporating consulting services and technology solutions.
The center is intended to expand the Red Cross“™ ability to engage with the public during emergencies.
Dell believes the center will help the Red Cross spot trends and connect people with resources like water, food shelter and emotional support during disasters.
