Northrop Grumman Corp.“™s aerospace systems division won a $24,484,465 U.S. Air Force contract to develop a radar system for the Global Hawk program.
The Defense Department said Wednesday Northrop will develop the Multi Platform Radar Technology Insertion Program radar system for the Global Hawk Block 40 Program.
Conttract work will occur at El Segundo, Calif. with an expected completion of Aug. 31, 2013.
The Electronic Systems Center at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts is the contracting activity.
Northrop supports the Air Force’s Global Hawk program and aircraft.
The company was contracted late January to provide two of the Air Force’s Hawk aircraft with communications payloads for situational awareness capabilities.
