Harris Corp. has won a $10 million contract fromPittsylvania County, Va. to help the county deploy a public safety communications system, the company announced Monday.
The Melbourne, Fla.-based communications and contracting firm the system will follow P25 Phase 2 standards and connect more than 1,000 first responders and surrounding agencies throughout the county.
The network will also support more than 1,200 Harris’s P7300 and XG-100P portable radios.
Pittsylvania County will also deploy the company“™s trunked vehicular repeaters which are powerful system tools that can extend the system coverage in the 800 and 700 MHZ frequencies.
Earlier this month, the company won a $12.4 million contract to provide a wireless digital voice and data network to a Latin American nation.
