He will directly report to President and CEO Lisa Hook and focus on corporate strategy and mergers and acquisitions, emphasizing organic growth and acquisitions.

Hook said the 20-year industry veteran’s experience in founding new businesses, entering new markets and building business models for business intelligence and analytics aligns with the company’s growth strategy.

He will work out of the company’s Mountain View, Calif. office.

His most recent position at Cisco as vice president for strategy, planning and market development in its world wide enterprise business.

He managed the company’s global go-to-market strategy, business planning, governance and metrics, business intelligence and market development for more than two-thirds of the company's business.

He also has served as vice president for strategy, operations and business development for the company’s emerging markets unit.

That unit covers 136 countries in Latin America, the Middle East and Africa and Russia and Central and Eastern Europe.

The company credits him with growing the unit at 30% over a five-year period.

Prior to joining the San Jose-based network equipment firm, he held senior positions at Hitachi Americas Limited, McKinsey & Co. and Cambridge Technology Partners.

In January, Neustar appointed Christine Brennan senior vice president of human resources, also reporting to Hook.
