Northrop Grumman Corp.’s Patricia McMahon has won a Navy League award for contributing to maritime strength and national security, the company announced Wednesday.’s2012 Navy League of the United States
The Fleet Adm. Chester W. Nimitz Award was presented at the Sea-Air Space Exposition at the Gaylord Resort and Convention Center.
McMahon serves as sector vice president and general manager, military aircraft systems for the company’s aerospace systems sector.
She works on various Navy programs including the E-2 Hawkeye, C-2 Greyhound, F/A-18 Super Hornet and E/A-18G Growler, as well as the F-35 Lightning II and the Air Force’s B-2 Bomber.
Northrop said McMahon is the first woman to win the award since its creation in 1981.
