Raytheon Promoting STEM During Math Month

Raytheon Co. is supporting Mathematics Awareness Month, the company announced Monday.

The defense contractor has teamed with educational facilities and centers to promote educational and processional careers in science, technology, engineering and math.

The company said its MathMovesU initiative will travel around the country to engage students in interactive hands-on activities throughout 2012.

The company believes promoting STEM initiatives will help prepare the next generation of U.S. technologists and innovators.

Last month, the company celebrated Pi Day by delivering apple pies to math and science teachers around company facilities.

Teachers and students within three miles of selected business locations will receive the pies.
