Adjacent to the base, the new facility will house repair and maintenance work in support of naval missions.
The company has already begun repair work at the facility on radio frequency countermeasures for the F/A-18 fleet.
Company and military officials gave remarks at Monday’s opening ceremony, including Col. Alan Pratt, commander of the center.
Exelis also recently opened a new office at the U.S. Army’s test center, located near Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.
Aberdeen is home to testing automobiles, engineering equipment, direct-fire systems and shoulder-fired weapons.
