Future Lockheed COO Marillyn Hewson Named A USO Woman Of The Year - top government contractors - best government contracting eventLockheed Martin Corp. announced Thursday one of its executives received the United Service Organizations 2012 Women of the Year Award for non-military leaders.

Marillyn Hewson, executive vice president of Lockheed’s electronic systems business unit was honored on May 1 at the USO of Metropolitan New York ceremony.

The Bethesda, Md.-based company said the award recognizes women who have shown dedication to supporting the military.

Hewson will assume the position of president and chief operating officer of Lockheed on Jan. 1 next year, succeeding Chris Kubasik who was selected as the company’s next president and CEO.
