ICF International is a recipient of a Department of Health and Human Services award for supporting programs targeted to low-income families, the company announced Thursday.
The department’s children and families administration gave the company an Outstanding Contractor award for helping the Assets for Independence program and the ASSET Initiative.
AFI promotes individual savings accounts to purchase a home, start a business, or go back to school.
Nonprofit and governmental agencies run AFI, which also promotes financial literacy and provides household self-sufficiency support to families in the program.
The ASSET Initiative is an interagency and regionally-based program, which connects families to asset building services.
The company provides grant management, training events and a grant support resource center for the initiatives.
