SAIC, Rockwell Collins Team For Tactical Ship Network Tech - top government contractors - best government contracting eventSAIC Inc. has selected Rockwell Collins to provide its technology used to establish mobile ad hoc, Internet Protocol networks used in tactical data exchanges, Rockwell Collins announced Wednesday. 

U.S. Navy ships will receive SAIC’s Sub-Net Relay solution for collaborative planning, using existing communications systems already aboard the branch’s ships. 

The Navy will use the solution, produced at Rockwell Collins’ Ottawa, Ontario, and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. facilities, as part of its PEOC4I Battle Force Tactical Networking program.

SAIC and Rockwell Collins will work to provide joint and coalition naval forces with interoperability, including a common standard for collaborative planning and sharing of tactical information, said Bob Haag, vice president and general manager of communication and navigation products for Rockwell Collins.

Rockwell Collins is researching analog-to-digital converters for radios under a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency program.
