SAIC Inc. will help the Air Force maintain space-based infrared systems and military satellite communications for the branch’s weather sustainment division.
The Defense Department announced Thursday that the McLean, Va.-contractor will also provide logistics management support for ground-based command and control systems for national defense weapons.
Work under the firm-fixed-price contract will occur in Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. and McLean, Va.
The Pentagon expects the work to finish by Dec. 31 and Peterson Air Force Base is the contracting activity.
In March, the Pentagon announced that the company would also replace obsolete landing equipment with commercial-off-the-shelf components and integrate the new parts into existing infrastructure.
