A cyber expert recently said that the U.S. is vulnerable to cyber attacks despite its ability to create sophisticated computer viruses, Business Insider reports.
Mike Lloyd, chief technology officer at Red Seal Networks, told writer Michael Kelley that the country can suffer from attacks that are simpler than the complex Stuxnet worm, which targeted industrial systems in 2011.
According to Lloyd, simple defenses are the key to protecting against simple cyber attacks.
Those defenses must also be consistent, he added.
Verizon implemented several measures to avoid cyber attacks, including changing passwords and implementing a firewall or access control list on remote access services, he said.
Business Insider also reported that the White House recently admitted that it worked with Israel to develop Stuxnet.
