Deb Alderson will serve as president and CEO of Sotera Defense Solutions, effective July 8.
Ahead of her transition to Sotera, she caught up with ExecutiveBiz to discuss her short- and long-term goals for the company and her approach to leadership.

She was previously EVP and chief operating officer at SRA International since November 2012 where she oversaw the company’s four main operating groups in the civil government, defense, health and intelligence, homeland security and law enforcement markets.
The Virginia Polytechnic Institute graduate has spent more than 25 years in the government services industry and has led multi-billion dollar organizations in areas including C4ISR (command, control, computers, communications, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance).
Her other executive roles have focused on technical services, logistics, systems engineering and integration support for customers including the Defense Department, the Department of Homeland Security and each branch of the armed forces.
Outside of the office, Alderson serves on the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association‘s board of directors and she is active in the Association of the U.S. Army, the Air Force Association and the National Defense Industrial Association.
Her recognitions include a position as a “Top 25 Female Executive” in The WashingtonPost and a 2011 Federal 100 Award.
