SAIC Recognized For Meeting Small Vet-Owned Biz Subcontract Goal

SAIC Inc. has received recognition for its work with veteran-owned small business, the company announced Tuesday.

The National Veteran Small Business Coalition recognized the company at its Veteran Entrepreneur Training Symposium Tuesday, during the “Champions of Veteran Enterprise” luncheon in Reno, Nev.

NVSBC works to help veterans transition into the business world and ensure they are given first consideration through federal prime and subcontracting procurement opportunities.

In 2011, the company met the government’s mandated goal of awarding 3 percent of total subcontracts to small veteran-owned small businesses adding up to around $315 million.
