Northrop Grumman will deliver tools to the U.S. Navy for testing data link interoperability, the Defense Department announced Wednesday.
The company will provide the branch single, joint and combined data link test tool equipment, components and spares.
Associated engineering services will include field engineering, specially tailored training and equipment-centric operational support.
Joint and allied agencies, naval data link equipped platforms and other support facilities will use the tools for simulation and interoperability testing and analysis.
Foreign customers yet to be identified will also receive test tools through the foreign military sales program, the Pentagon said.
Work will occur in San Diego and at various locations worldwide through July 2013.
Longbow, a Northrop and Lockheed Martin joint venture, is making a radar electronic unit and a data link assembly for the U.S. Army‘s unmanned aerial vehicle fleet.
