The U.S. Air Force has issued a solicitation notice for offensive cyber technologies that can destroy or disrupt the ability of cyber attackers to access networks, Wired reports.

Citing official documents, Noah Shachtman reports the Air Force also wants the technologies to deny, degrade, deceive, corrupt or usurp hackers’ abilities to use cyberspace domains to their advantage.

Potential technologies could include Trojan horses and worms, according to the report.

The Air Force also wants to control cyberspace effects at specified time and places and deny service to cyber resources, operating systems and devices, Shachtman reports.

Nearly $10 million will be allocated to this project between three and 12 months.

Top brass and operational commanders should have the tools at their disposal and malware should be standard in a local general’s toolkit, the Air Force says, according to the story.
