Booz Allen Sponsoring Wounded Warrior 'Day of Golf;' Maria Darby Comments - top government contractors - best government contracting eventBooz Allen Hamilton is partnering with the Salute Military Golf Association to sponsor golf tournaments for soldiers injured in Afghanistan and Iraq, the company announced Monday.

Bethesda Country Club in Bethesda, Md. is one of six locations hosting the Wounded Warrior Golf Tournament.

Other locations include San Diego; Charleston, S.C.; Dayton, Ohio; Honolulu, Hawaii; and Norfolk, Va.

The company will also connect veterans to other nonprofit organizations through the tournaments, said Maria Darby, a senior vice president.

More than 250 BAH employees, including senior leaders, will play golf with nearly 100 wounded combat veterans, will help plan the golf events and volunteer at one of the tournaments.

The company will use net proceeds to acquire equipment, lessons and golf course access for veterans.

Organizers hope to connect veterans to nonprofits that help with the transition from military to civilian life and also virtually connect company staff across multiple locations.

Earlier this year, employees provided home and community repairs in Washington’s Lincoln Heights neighborhood.
