Maj. Matthew Bisswurm, an acquisition officer in the U.S. Army, has begun a one-year internship with Google to support the branch’s Training with Industry Program.
The program “aims to provide soldiers with hands-on experience by working with top defense, information technology and pioneering commercial companies,” David Stegon wrote for FedScoop today.
Once participants return from their time with the company, they work with the Army to do better business with industry, to improve relationships with private sector firms and to better overall understand their private sector counterparts.
“I'm looking to bring some of the innovative processes and successful techniques that Google has used, and help integrate them into the Army,“ Bisswurm said, according to the report.
